Kansas City Chiefs have waived linebacker Wesley Bissainthe as they begin making their cuts to reach the NFL's 53-man roster limit.
Bissainthe's time with the Chiefs has come to an end just four months after he joined the team as an undrafted rookie.

Kansas City Chiefs waive Wesley Bissainthe
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Bissainthe was waived by Kansas City as the team's roster cuts got underway on Saturday.
"The Chiefs released rookie linebacker Wesley Bissainthe. He is one of the players who is eligible, and is considering returning to college this season," Schefter wrote.
The move makes Bissainthe the first player to be waived as the Chiefs begin trimming their roster ahead of the 53-man deadline.
The 22-year-old went undrafted out of Miami in April before signing with Kansas City days later.
Bissainthe's arrival in Kansas City came with the linebacker becoming the only player at his position signed by the team out of the 2026 draft class.
However, he was unable to secure a place on the Chiefs' final roster as the team began making its cuts.
Kansas City had Nick Bolton , Drue Tranquill , Jeffrey Bassa and Jack Cochrane among the linebackers competing for roster spots, leaving Bissainthe facing a difficult battle for a place on the 53-man squad.
His release also comes while Bissainthe is fighting in court for another season of college football at Miami.
The rookie is now considering a return to college rather than pursuing a place on an NFL practice squad.
If Bissainthe clears waivers and does not return to Miami, a practice-squad opportunity with Kansas City could still be possible.
