LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Kansas Jayhawks got their first win in Big 12 play in dramatic fashion on Saturday.
They were able to defeat Baylor 25-24, thanks to DT Blake Herold blocking what likely would have been the game-winning field goal with less than 20 seconds to play in regulation.
The Jayhawks scored first on an Isaiah Marshall 22-yard touchdown pass to tight end Carson Bruhn in the first quarter, going up 7-0. Baylor tied the game on their next possession with a Dawson Pendergrass one-yard TD run.

The teams went into the half tied at seven after multiple missed TD opportunities by Kansas.
Kansas fought their way back after going down by 11 in the second half, thanks to a Devon Jordan pick-six and a very impressive eight-yard touchdown catch by Jayden McGowan to put Baylor up 21-10 with just under seven minutes in the third quarter.
Kansas responded just seven seconds into the fourth quarter with an Isaiah Marshall 34-yard TD strike to Nik McMillan. They failed the two-point conversion but narrowed the Baylor lead to five.
A 15-yard touchdown run by Marshall gave Kansas their first lead of the game with 1:13 remaining, putting them up 25-24 after another failed two-point conversion attempt.
The Bears were able to get in field range, but Rhett Armstrong had his 49-yard attempt blocked by Herold to secure the win for Kansas.
Marshall finished the game 17/29 with 212 yards, two TDs and two interceptions. Dylan Edwards had his best game as a Jayhawk so far, with a career-high 30 carries for 156 yards.

They will head to Fort Worth to face TCU next Saturday.
