NORMAN — Oklahoma sophomore guard Keeley Parks will miss the 2026-27 season after suffering a non-contact knee injury in practice last week, the program announced Monday.
"We're heartbroken for Keeley," Sooners coach Jennie Baranczyk said in a statement. "She worked so hard this offseason to get ready for the year, and it's devastating to see her season end before it begins. Our focus is on supporting her in every way possible throughout her recovery."
The news came four hours before No. 21 OU opens its season against No. 12 North Carolina in Paris. Parks will undergo surgery on the knee following the team's return from a season-opening trip to Paris.
A Norman native and former five-star recruit, Parks joined the Sooners this offseason after one season at Kansas. Parks earned Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year honors twice at Norman High School. She was ranked as the No. 16 overall player in the 2025 class by USA Today Sports and No. 31 by ESPN.
OU and UNC tip at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
"Keeley is a competitor, and we know she'll approach this with the same determination and toughness she brings to the court every day," Baranczyk said. "Our entire program is behind her, and we look forward to having her back on the floor."
