Mark Pope is in his third season as the Kentucky head coach. Kentucky is expected to be a Top 25 team this year and make another run in the NCAA tournament in March.
Kentucky opened the season with an 85-57 win over Manhattan. They also just got a massive win on the College Basketball Recruiting trail, as Pope has landed a 7-foot-5 center , according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
"Top-10 senior Cherif Millogo has committed to Kentucky, he announced. One of the biggest risers in ESPN's latest rankings update, the 7-foot-5 Millogo is the No. 2 center and No. 8 overall in the SC Next 100. He becomes Mark Pope's highest-ranked recruit at Kentucky," Borzello posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The 11th-ranked overall recruit and number two center chose Kentucky over BYU, USC, Louisville, Arizona, and North Carolina, plus other SEC schools, including Arkansas and Tennessee.
His size and athletic ability made him an attractive option for multiple teams, something that Jack Pilgrim of On3 pointed out.
"He's the most physically imposing big man in the country, agile for his size and capable of knocking down jump shots, but also an impossible load to handle in the frontcourt. Boasting a 7-foot-9 wingspan, Millogo is a vicious rim protector with tremendous upside as he improves his strength and conditioning and continues stacking game reps," Pilgrim wrote.
This is the second commitment for Kentucky, as Millogo joins Ryan Hampton, another top-30 player who signed with the Wildcats over the summer.
On the court, Kentucky continued their season on Friday against James Madison before facing off with Kansas the next Tuesday.
