After making three highly-graded picks during the 2026 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings have now added two players that went undrafted, signing SMU guard BJ Edwards and LSU forward Marquel Sutton.
Both players are versatile, and will likely be used as fringe-roster guys available for call-ups from the G-League Affiliate Stockton Kings.

Edwards, who started his career at Tennessee , played many different roles for the Mustangs in his senior campaign, recording career-highs in rebounds (5.9) and assists (4.9) per game.
The 6-foot-3 senior showed major growth as a 3-point shooter, while posting his most efficient season of his SMU tenure (47.4-percent).
Edwards' versatility and defensive impact shined throughout the season, recording two triple-doubles, including a 24-point, 10-steal, 13-assist performance against Arkansas State.
Getting 10 steals in a Division 1 college basketball game is impressive by itself, but when you add in his offensive impact, Edwards' dominant performance was a one-of-a-kind.

In his second triple-double, Edwards opted for the more traditional route, scoring 21 points along with 11 rebounds and 10 assists against Cal State Fullerton.
However, Edwards still had five thefts, emphasizing his dedication to the defensive end.
Edwards' knack for forcing turnovers is impressive, with his 2.3 steals per game leading the ACC conference.
His 180 career takeaways at SMU ranks fifth in program history, with his 2.1 steal per game overall average being tied for third all-time.
Sutton, unlike Edwards, finished his career with a new program after three seasons at Omaha.
In 2024, Sutton was the Summit League Player of the Year for the Mavericks, averaging 18.9 points per game, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per contest.

Sutton left Omaha with 13 career double-doubles and over 1,300 career points scored.
In his lone season in Baton Rouge, Sutton led the team in rebounding (7.3) while finishing as one of LSU's top scorers, averaging just over 13 points per game.
Sutton added another six career double-doubles to his résumé, dominating the glass in non-conference play.
Against New Orleans, Sutton recorded a season best 15 rebounds, adding 15 points thanks to four 3-point makes.
Sutton's ability to shoot the long ball at a more consistent rate will dictate his ceiling at the next level, as the 6-foot-8 forward broke the 30-percent mark for the only time in his career last season.

While both Sutton and Edwards have uphill battles to carving out significant roles, you never know when a team will need to lean on its additional depth.
