The NBA Draft Lottery was on Sunday , and at least two teams have reasons to complain. The Brooklyn Nets and the Sacramento Kings were both denied top five selections.
The Nets received the sixth overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft. Sacramento meanwhile was awarded the seventh overall pick, per the NBA.
The first selection was given to the Washington Wizards . Next were the Utah Jazz , Memphis Grizzlies , Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers .
There is plenty of talent to go around in the 2026 draft.
"The 2026 draft class is considered one of the deepest at the top in recent memory. The class' big four are BYU wing AJ Dybantsa, Kansas guard Darryn Peterson, Duke big Cameron Boozer and North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson," The Athletic reported on Sunday.
According to an ESPN report, the Nets had some of the best chances to win the no. 1 overall pick. It clearly stings fans to see the team tumble so far down the lottery. Brooklyn finished the 2025-26 season with a 20-62 record.
Sacramento meanwhile also had a really tough season. The Kings, like the Nets, missed the NBA Playoffs. Sacramento went 22-60 on the season.
Even though the Nets and Kings are likely not getting those four players, there is still plenty of talent expected to be available.
"Lists of the next six prospects typically include guards Darius Acuff Jr. of Arkansas, Mikel Brown Jr. of Louisville, Brayden Burries of Arizona, Kingston Flemings of Houston and Keaton Wagler of Illinois, as well as big Aday Mara, who helped Michigan win the 2026 NCAA Tournament," The Athletic reported.
The 2026 NBA Draft starts on June 23. Other teams picking in the top 10 include the Atlanta Hawks , Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks .
