- What Kirby Smart said about injury to Georgia football center Drew Bobo

Drew Bobo was already working his way back from a significant injury from late last season.
Now, Georgia football 's starting center is dealing with another injury.
This one is to a hand or finger, according to UGASports.com, but coach Kirby Smart on Wednesday Aug. 19 downplayed it.
"He practiced yesterday," Smart said. "All day, took every rep. He was great."
Bobo missed the SEC championship game win over Alabama last season and the Sugar Bowl CFP quarterfinals loss to Ole Miss with a Lisfranc foot injury.
The second-team USA TODAY Sports preseason All-American's began fall camp on a what called Smart a "pitch count," after being sidelined this spring.
Georgia 's replacements for Bobo if need be are Cortez Smith , who played in four games last season as a freshman out of Parkview High, and Malachi Toliver , the third-year player from Cartersville who started three games last season.
Smart said of Smith: "He's in a really tough competition for he and Malachi for the backup center spot. Both have had goods and bads and they've both got to keep improving. Drew wasn't able to make it through last year with the tough injury. Those guys had to step up and play. We need him to be ready to go this year. He's got the flexibility to be able to kick out and playing some guard. I think that will make him a better center."
The good news for the Bulldogs is they don't play a Power Conference team until week 3 at Arkansas after opening with Tennessee State on Sept. 5 and then playing Western Kentucky at home.
Bobo also sustained a hand injury late last season that led to him being held out of a home game against Charlotte.
