- Get to know the Kentucky football roster: No. 17 Justyn Hartley
The beginning of the 2026 Kentucky football season is almost here. There are just 17 days remaining until they kick off versus Youngstown State on Sep. 5, and as we count down the days, we're getting to know the roster. Today, we're getting to know No. 17, Justyn Hartley .
Hartley is a 6'1", 192 lb linebacker out of Hoover, Alabama. As a recruit in this year's class, he was rated three stars by 247Sports and ranked as the No. 634 overall player in their composite rankings.

Despite a very good ranking by recruiting services, Hartley flew under the radar with the major programs, perhaps due to his lack of size. However, the Wildcats did offer him a scholarship, and he committed in late 2025 after recording seven sacks as a high school senior.
As a freshman this season, Hartley will spend a lot of time adjusting to the speed of the game, and learning the system. He could contribute on special teams, and a switch to linebacker is likely. He's a good athlete, though, and a talented player who has a bright future in Lexington.
