The New Orleans Saints added several playmakers around starting quarterback Tyler Shough this offseason. On the opposite side of the ball, Saints standout cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry is looking forward to testing the new-look offense.

Before those weapons can face another team, they must first deal with McKinstry and the Saints' defense throughout training camp. McKinstry discussed the offense during a recent appearance on Ari Meirov's NFL Spotlight YouTube show :

"We've got a lot of explosive guys over there. I'm excited to see it myself. I'm excited to compete against it. I feel like that's my first goal going into camp—shutting that offense down. They're so explosive. They've got great players over there. Everyone has their own difference to them, their own kick to them, and I love that about them. I really feel like they're loaded over there. I feel like they're going to be very explosive, but I'm at them—and I hope they see this. I like the offense — I love it, but going into this camp, I'm on some defense-versus-offense stuff. I ain't going to lie."

The additions of wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and running back Travis Etienne Jr. give Kellen Moore more explosive options for the offense alongside Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara . New Orleans also added support on the offensive line, signing interior offensive lineman David Edwards .

As for McKinstry, who had a breakout season in 2025, the 23-year-old CB will see a difficult test switching on and off between Olave and Tyson. It should be one of the most exciting and competitive matchups of training camp.
