The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will start their season against the Lamar Cardinals. Kickoff is scheduled on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET at Cajun Field at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium (Lafayette, La.).
Lamar is headed out to face Louisiana after opening its season at home and giving Cardinals fans just what they were looking for. The Cardinals walked away with a 21-14 win over the Abilene Christian Wildcats in Week 1. Give some credit to the fans of both those teams: The home team has now come away the winner the last four times they've met.
Quarterback Aiden McCown looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 183 yards and three TDs–his most since Sept. 27 last year, when he passed for as many vs. Central Arkansas.
Even though Lamar won, it couldn't break through the O-line and finished the game without a sack. The defense has not gone sack-free since Aug. 30 last year.
As for Louisiana, the Cajuns enter with a clean slate. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (6-7), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.
Going forward, a win appears likely for Louisiana, as the team is favored by a full 20.5 points and finished last season with a 6-7 record against the spread.
