Jones, a Holy Ghost Prep product, had not seen action with the Chicago parent club this season. He previously has had two stints with the Cleveland Guardians and in between played two seasons for the Colorado Rockies , where he posted his best season in 2023, belting 20 homers and stealing 20 bases. Cleveland made him a second-round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.
