Streaming a kicker might not be the most exciting part of fantasy football. That said, choosing the right one can make a meaningful difference in a close Week 5 matchup . Rather than chasing last week's biggest scoring performance, managers should focus on offenses that consistently move the ball, defenses that struggle to finish drives, and stadium conditions that favor accurate kicking. There are several kickers who present a different path to fantasy production. That makes them worth considering for managers looking to maximize points without spending a premium roster spot.

Will Reichard, MIN (@ NO)

Will Reichard is an appealing Week 5 streaming option as the Minnesota Vikings travel to the Caesars Superdome to face the New Orleans Saints. Playing indoors eliminates wind and precipitation concerns. This should allow Reichard to focus on execution rather than the unpredictable conditions that can complicate outdoor kicking.

The matchup is particularly encouraging. New Orleans surrendered 45 points in Week 4 . The Saints have been among the league's most generous defenses for opposing fantasy kickers. Minnesota should have opportunities to move the ball against that unit. This will create chances for Reichard to contribute through both field goals and extra points.

His accuracy and demonstrated range from beyond 50 yards add to his appeal. Longer field goals carry additional fantasy value in many scoring formats, giving Reichard another route to a strong weekly finish. Reichard is a priority streamer thanks to favorable indoor conditions, a promising matchup, and the potential for multiple field-goal opportunities.

Jake Bates, DET (@ ARI)

Jake Bates deserves serious consideration after delivering an explosive fantasy football performance in Week 4. The Detroit Lions kicker did well against Carolina, converting four field goals. He demonstrated how valuable a busy kicker can be when an offense repeatedly reaches scoring range.

Detroit now travels to Glendale to face the Arizona Cardinals inside State Farm Stadium. Arizona has surrendered at least 31 points in each of its last three contests. This suggests the Lions could have plenty of opportunities to put points on the board. A high-scoring outing would give Bates a chance to accumulate extra points.

There is one potential complication: Detroit's aggressive approach on fourth down. Head coach Dan Campbell is willing to keep the offense on the field in situations when other teams might settle for a kick. That decision-making can reduce a kicker's opportunities.ring drives.

Fantasy managers should avoid expecting another massive performance automatically. However, Bates remains one of the more attractive options available on the waiver wire. He is a strong streaming candidate with substantial scoring potential, although Detroit's fourth-down aggressiveness introduces some uncertainty.

Spencer Shrader, IND (@ PIT)

Spencer Shrader could provide dependable fantasy football production when the Indianapolis Colts visit the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts have Jonathan Taylor to help move the chains, giving the offense a reliable way to advance into opposing territory. If Indianapolis can consistently reach scoring range but struggles to finish drives against Pittsburgh's red-zone defense, Shrader could receive several opportunities to convert.

The distinction between moving the ball and scoring touchdowns is important when evaluating kickers. An offense that struggles to generate first downs may leave its kicker with few chances. Meanwhile, a productive offense that repeatedly stalls near the end zone can create a steady stream of field-goal attempts. Shrader is a sensible streamer for managers prioritizing field-goal opportunities over explosive scoring potential.

Matt Gay, LV (@ NE)

Matt Gay rounds out this week's list as a potentially valuable low-rostered option when the Las Vegas Raiders face the New England Patriots. New England's ability to tighten up near the goal line could encourage field-goal attempts. However, fantasy football managers should not automatically assume that every stalled drive will result in a kick. Of course, fourth-down decisions and offensive execution can change the equation.

Gay's leg strength provides additional upside, particularly if Las Vegas reaches long-range field-goal territory. With relatively favorable weather conditions expected, he has a path to useful production without needing the Raiders to dominate the scoreboard. Gay is a worthwhile deeper-league streamer whose range and potential field-goal volume make him an appealing alternative.

Final Takeaway

Reichard and Bates lead this week's streaming options. They combine favorable indoor conditions with offenses capable of generating scoring opportunities. Shrader offers a potentially steady alternative. Gay brings long-range upside. Prioritize opportunity over last week's points when making your final decision.
