- Latest Trade Proposal Suggests Buccaneers Ship Ben Bredeson to NFC North Contender
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a team that's on the verge right now. The team is just 1-4, and even in a down NFC South, they could be fading fast.
As a result, trade speculation has been rampant around the team. Chris Godwin, Kenny Gainwell, and A'Shawn Robinson are some veterans who have been floated in rumors , and several others could also be included if the struggles continue.

With less than a month to go until the trade deadline, the Bucs will have to make some decisions soon. Maybe they can stack a few wins and feel optimistic heading into November, but it still seems likely that at least some pieces get moved.

Ben Bredeson is a player who could begin to pick up steam as the deadline nears. Bredeson has been a consistent starter in the league since 2022, and he's been a reliable piece for the Bucs since 2024.

So far this season, Bredeson has played and started in all five games. Pro Football Focus gives the guard a solid 60.1 overall grade, with slightly better grades as a pass blocker than a run blocker.
Alex Kay of Bleacher Report recently identified one trade each contender should make to get over the edge in 2026. Kay thinks Bredeson would be the best possible option to fix the Vikings' interior offensive line.
The Vikings lost Donovan Jackson for the season , and Joe Huber has struggled in relief.

"If Huber can't sort things out, Minnesota's brass should reach out to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to see if Ben Bredeson is available. The steady veteran is the type of reliable o-lineman who the Vikings could acquire and immediately slot into their starting lineup," said Kay . "He'd also get a chance to play alongside his brother, rookie Max Bredeson, who works as a fullback and special teamer in the Twin Cities."
As Kay mentioned, Bredeson could immediately be inserted into the starting lineup and keep the unit afloat for the rest of the season. Plus, there's the cool note of Bredeson reuniting with his brother, who already plays for the Vikings.
Bredeson is under contract through 2027, so he wouldn't be purely a rental, either. As a result, the Buccaneers could want a decent pick in exchange. The Vikings are trying to win the division, though, so they could be willing to pay up to ensure their quarterback is protected.
