Leeds United are concerned about the consistency of Dominic Calvert-Lewin's performances as they continue to struggle for goals.
The 29-year-old is the first-choice striker at Elland Road, given the lack of alternatives in the squad, but has scored just one goal in his last five games while Leeds have struggled.
There is now a growing feeling that the England international cannot be relied upon as their main source of goals, particularly when others in the side are not chipping in.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insiderthat Leeds should be worried about their over-reliance on Calvert-Lewin to provide their threat in front of goal.
Should his struggles continue, the Whites will find themselves dragged further down the table, and the perssure on Daniel Farke's position will continue to grow.
While it has not been a bad start to the season by any means, Leeds' lack of attacking threat has raised questions about the manager, with Calvert-Lewin's form key.
Why are Dominic Calvert-Lewin's displays a concern?
Brown warned Football Insideron 2 November that Farke will face increasing pressure on his position at Leeds if his side continues to struggle in front of goal.
A 2-0 defeat against Bournemouth means they have now failed to score in three of their last five games, and only three Premier League teams have scored fewer this season.
Calvert-Lewin's form can be blamed for their recent issues in front of goal, while his teammates are also at fault and are not contributing enough to their attacking efforts.
"Leeds are going to be a bit worried about Dominic Calvert-Lewin's recent performances," Brown told Football Insider.
"He's only scored one in the last five games at a time where goals have really dried up for them, and they are relying on their striker to help them find the net.
"Of course, he is not the only one to blame, because their midfielders and defenders chipped in a lot last season and haven't done that this time around.
"But ultimately, Calvert-Lewin is the player Leeds are looking at to score the goals, and that's a concern because he has never been a consistent and reliable goalscorer.
"Everybody knows Leeds want a new striker to provide competition, but they also need their current options to step up, because it's the manager who will face the backlash.
"If Leeds can't score goals, and Calvert-Lewin isn't doing enough to find the net, then they're going to drop down the table and it's the manager who could lose his job."
Daniel Farke in 'dangerous position' as Leeds have 'major problem' - expert Daniel Farke 'expects' Leeds United to spend big in January Could Daniel Farke be sacked by Leeds?
Leeds have been keen to back Farke after what appeared to be a strong start to the season, despite things having derailed in recent weeks, but tensions are growing.
Fans have expressed their frustrations, both at Elland Road and via social media, with the lack of threat in front of goal starting to become a major concern for them.
Brown warned Football Insiderno 27 October that Farke could quickly lose the support of the Leeds fans if their results take a downward turn in the coming weeks.
There are now fears that the defeat against Bournemouth could put the manager in a dangerous position, with draws turning into defeats, highlighting their lack of wins.
However, should results turn the other way and if Leeds can convert their draws into wins with an upturn in their attacking form, Farke will remove the doubts over his position.
