DeWanna Bonner is taking no prisoners when it comes to "keyboard warriors" trying to tarnish her legacy. The forward has been facing backlash following the Atlanta Dream's heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Finals on Saturday.
Much of the criticism has centered on her decision to switch teams midseason for the second consecutive year in what many believe was a ring-chasing attempt to win her third WNBA title
before the 39-year-old's career ends.

In a post on her Facebook account, the six-time All-Star sent a defiant message.
"So many keyboard warriors on this internet! Narratives being created by people who are just miserable and looking for engagement! I know who I am and what I bring to the table," she said.
Bonner described her short stint in Atlanta as one of the best decisions of her life. She added that the experience and impact went far beyond coming close to winning her elusive third title.
She ended her message with another pointed reminder to her critics:
"But yall keep trying, it won't work !! My legacy can never be erased!"
Bonner first reached the finals in 2009, when she won her first championship with the Phoenix Mercury. She captured her second title with the Mercury in 2014.
However, her three subsequent finals appearances have ended in defeat.
She returned to the championship series with the Connecticut Sun in 2022 but lost to the Las Vegas Aces. After parting ways with the Indiana Fever midseason, she returned to Phoenix and made another finals appearance in 2025, only to lose to the Aces again. Her latest run with the Dream also ended in heartbreak, this time against the Valkyries.

She struggled throughout the finals, particularly after Game 3. She scored four points on 1-of-5 shooting, including 1-of-4 from 3-point range, in Game 4 before going scoreless in Games 5 and 6, shooting 0-of-2, missing both shots from 3-point range. In Game 7, she scored four points on 2-of-6 shooting and went 0-of-3 from beyond the arc.
DeWanna Bonner Drops Cryptic Message as WNBA Veteran Hints at Future After Finals Heartbreak
DeWanna Bonner looks like she isn't ready to call it a career just yet. In fact, the 17-year WNBA veteran finds herself an unrestricted free agent. But while the end of her contract raises questions about her future, Bonner teased that she still has something left in the tank.
In a message posted on Instagram, Bonner said:
"And as for what's next? Just remember, if you didn't hear it from me, you haven't heard it yet. 😉."
For Bonner, the goal is simple: finish her career on her own terms and, ideally, give it another run next season. As an unrestricted free agent, it remains to be seen whether Atlanta will bring her back or if another team will take a chance on her. At nearly 40, Bonner knows the end will come eventually. But as long as the desire is still there, it looks like she has no plans to walk away from the game just yet.
