RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly among several top Bundesliga clubs interested in signing Borussia Mönchengladbach sensation Wael Mohya, who has attracted considerable attention following his impressive breakthrough at just 17 years old.
According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg , Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring the attacking midfielder, while several major European clubs have expressed interest.

Mohya's performances have made him one of the Bundesliga's most exciting young prospects, but Gladbach are determined to keep their rising star beyond his current contract, which expires in 2028.
Four Bundesliga Giants Fighting For The Same Talent
Mohya's rise has been impossible to ignore.
The 17-year-old has already registered three goals and one assist in eight competitive appearances this season, establishing himself as an increasingly important player under Gladbach coach Alexander Blessin.
His latest performance against Stuttgart demonstrated exactly why Germany's biggest clubs are watching. Mohya scored once and provided an assist in Gladbach's 3-2 victory, an impressive performance that helped his team secure their first Bundesliga win of the campaign.

Mohya is particularly dangerous when operating between the lines, where his quick turns, close control, and ability to accelerate past defenders allow him to break through compact defensive structures. Rather than simply taking on opponents for the sake of it, the 17-year-old uses his dribbling to draw defenders out of position and create space for teammates.
He is comfortable playing centrally or drifting into the left half-space, combining in tight areas before attacking the penalty box. His willingness to press and contribute defensively also makes him an interesting fit for the high-intensity systems favoured by both Leipzig and Leverkusen.
For the Red Bulls , signing a player with Mohya's potential would fit the club's established philosophy of developing emerging stars.
Leverkusen , meanwhile, have demonstrated their willingness to trust young attacking players, but their reported interest in Mohya raises an interesting question. With Ibrahim Maza and Malik Tillman already competing for attacking midfield roles, where exactly would the 17-year-old fit into Carles Martínez's plans? Unless the club is preparing for the potential departure of one of its established talents, signing another promising attacking midfielder could create an increasingly crowded position.

However, there is currently no indication that either Maza or Tillman is expected to leave, meaning Leverkusen's interest could simply reflect their long-term recruitment strategy.
Gladbach Desperate To Keep Their Rising Star
Despite the growing interest, Borussia Mönchengladbach are not prepared to surrender their talented youngster without a fight.
According to the report, discussions are already underway over an improved contract that would extend Mohya's stay beyond 2028. A salary increase is being considered, while a potential release clause could become an important part of negotiations.

Mohya also has strong emotional ties to Gladbach.
The youngster grew up near Borussia-Park and helped the club win the German U17 championship in 2025.
Remarkably, Gladbach almost lost him that same year after initially failing to offer him a clear pathway into the first team.
His outstanding youth performances convinced the club to reconsider, and the decision now looks increasingly important.
Sporting director Rouven Schröder recently confirmed that the club remains in contact with Mohya, his family and his representatives.
Next Summer Could Decide Everything
Although several clubs, including the German giants, FC Bayern, are monitoring Mohya, a transfer during the January window is considered unlikely, but next summer could prove decisive, with Gladbach's Bundesliga survival potentially influencing the player's future.

Remaining in the top flight would strengthen Borussia's chances of keeping him, while relegation could make a departure significantly more likely.
For Leipzig and Leverkusen , the situation presents an interesting opportunity.
Both clubs have experience developing young Bundesliga talents, but competition from Bayern, Dortmund, and clubs abroad could make any potential deal difficult.
At just 17, Mohya has already demonstrated that he can influence matches at the highest level of German football.
Whether he eventually chooses Leipzig , Leverkusen , or another destination remains uncertain.
For now, one thing is clear: four of Germany's most ambitious clubs have their eyes on the same rising star.
From here the stage only gets bigger.
