Arkansas is adding another piece to its secondary ahead of the 2026 college football season. Former Liberty safety Brylan Green is joining the Razorbacks after recently receiving another year of eligibility through a court case in Louisiana , according to On3's Pete Nakos.
Green was one of 16 players granted additional eligibility in the ruling, giving him an opportunity to continue his college career after spending the previous four seasons with the Flames. Now, the Lafayette, Louisiana, native will get an opportunity to test himself in the SEC as part of Ryan Silverfield's first Arkansas roster.

Green brings plenty of experience with him to Fayetteville. He appeared in each of the past four seasons at Liberty , including seeing action as a true freshman in 2022. Interestingly enough, one of his appearances that season came against Arkansas, when he recorded four tackles against the Razorbacks.
Moreover, Green eventually developed into an important piece of Liberty's secondary. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound defensive back finished the 2025 season with 39 tackles, one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups. He also earned strong marks from Pro Football Focus, which gave him a 78.6 overall grade across 493 snaps.
Green particularly impressed in coverage, receiving a 79.5 grade from PFF. He was ranked as the No. 116 safety in the FBS last season. His arrival gives Silverfield another experienced option as he attempts to turn around an Arkansas program coming off a difficult 2025 campaign.
The Razorbacks finished just 2-10 last season, with former coach Sam Pittman losing his job following a 32-31 defeat against Memphis in September. Ironically, Silverfield was on the opposite sideline for that game.
Silverfield eventually received the opportunity to take over in Fayetteville after putting together an impressive tenure at Memphis. He went 49-25 across six seasons with the Tigers and won four bowl games before Arkansas hired him on Nov. 30.
All told, there will be no shortage of challenges during his first season. Arkansas has not won 10 games since Bobby Petrino led the Razorbacks to an 11-2 record in 2011. Moreover, the Hogs face a daunting schedule in 2026, with seven of their nine SEC opponents coming off seasons with at least eight victories. Utah also awaits in nonconference play.
One anonymous SEC coach told Athlon Sports that Silverfield "might have taken the wrong Power 4 job at the wrong time" because of the difficulty of Arkansas' schedule. He'll attempt to change that perception quickly.
Quarterback KJ Jackson will lead the offense, while additions such as Green could help reshape the other side of the football. After receiving another chance to play college football through the Louisiana court ruling, the former Liberty standout will spend that additional season attempting to help Silverfield turn things around at Arkansas.
