Spanish football is experiencing a day of chaos after the suspension of three matches, sparking outrage from one of its most respected figures. Santi Cazorla , a key player for Real Oviedo , exploded on social media against the organization of the competition after the cancellation of his match against Rayo Vallecano just hours before kickoff. "The reality is that LaLiga is light years behind the Premier League in every sense," declared the former Arsenal player.
The match, scheduled for Saturday at 14:00, was suspended because the Vallecas pitch did not guarantee the physical safety of the players. The official announcement came when the Carbayón fans were already in Madrid or en route, causing massive economic and logistical harm. Cazorla, who had previously criticized the schedules imposed on Oviedo, is leading a discontent that is shared by the entire squad and management.
In what they consider an "unfair" management, the president of the Asturian club, Martín Peláez, announced that they will fight for the three points through regulatory actions. While the club prioritizes the safety of the players, they denounce that the neglect of Rayo's facilities—previously pointed out by their own squad—should not go unpunished. This crisis deepens the debate about the quality of infrastructure and the operability of LaLiga compared to other European tournaments.
