The Lions finished the season with a 9-8 record that left them in last place in the division and out of the playoffs. That last-place finish a year ago could pay dividends this season as the Lions get the benefit of a schedule that is theoretically quite a bit easier than their NFC North rivals.

"These guys, I thought they ran hard," Campbell said after the game, per Sports Illustrated . "I thought they saw it. They just kept pushing the pile. It was already interesting. It feels very interesting right now, especially after that performance. I thought we moved them up front with the offensive line."
Quarterback Josh Dobbs led the way for Lions as he scored on a 50-yard TD run in the first quarter. He finished the game with 53 yards on 2 carries. Lions RB Trayveon Williams had 10 carries for 36 yards and also had a touchdown.
