Today was deadline day for all 32 NFL teams to trim their rosters down to the 53-man limit. We saw a number of trades over the last few days, and a handful of surprising roster moves, both in terms of cuts and players who survived the cut. For the Minnesota Vikings , while they did not make any huge moves, they did keep three undrafted free agents:
-
Jacob Thomas, Safety
-
Brett Thorson, Punter
-
Dillon Bell, Wide Receiver
Potentially the least surprising undrafted free agent to make an NFL roster this season is safety Jacob Thomas out of James Madison. Thomas has impressed in a big way during training camp and has stacked solid preseason performances. Thorson will be pushing for the starting punter job, and Bell should make a quality special-teamer and depth wide receiver for the Vikings this season.
