His pace, physicality and willingness to push forward would make him an intriguing option for Andoni Iraola's Liverpool side .
Naturally comfortable operating as either a traditional left-back or an attacking wing-back, Diouf offers the versatility to contribute defensively while providing width and dangerous deliveries into the penalty area.
His Premier League experience would also be an advantage, although his limited minutes at Brentford this season remain a consideration.
Brentford Price Tag
Crucially, Brentford are unlikely to entertain a cut-price departure, particularly after investing heavily in the defender and securing him on a five-year contract.
