Liverpool's recruitment work in the attacking midfield market appears far from finished, with TeamTalk reporting that the club have increased their interest in Galatasaray playmaker Aleksey Batrakov.
The 21-year-old has quickly moved into wider European focus. After producing 47 goal contributions in 66 matches across two strong seasons in the Russian Premier League, he earned his move to Galatasaray this summer and has already shown why elite clubs are monitoring him closely. His latest statement moment arrived in the Champions League this week, when he scored his first goal in the competition during a 4-2 win over Lille.
Those watching Liverpool's transfer strategy will recognise a clear pattern. The club continue to track high-end creative talent, whether for immediate impact or longer-term development. Florian Wirtz remains the headline attacking midfielder already in place, while Samuel Martinez has been secured for the future and Gilberto Mora continues to be linked.
Into that picture steps Batrakov, a player increasingly viewed as one of the more intriguing young creators on the market. The key issue is less about talent and more about fit. Liverpool are already well stocked in the No 10 spaces and any move would require clarity on role, pathway and patience.

There is also the financial element. With Arsenal credited as admirers too, the conditions for a premium fee are building. The source report references a £50m exit clause, a figure that would demand serious conviction from any buyer, especially for a player who only arrived in Turkey recently.
That does not rule Liverpool out, but it does raise the threshold. The club have shown a willingness to invest heavily when the profile is right, yet they are equally careful about squad balance and opportunity.
Batrakov feels like exactly the sort of name worth keeping an eye on, even if this one is not straightforward. The numbers are excellent, the age profile is ideal and scoring on the Champions League stage always sharpens attention. There is enough here to believe Liverpool's interest is genuine rather than speculative background noise.
The immediate question is where he fits under Andoni Iraola. Creative players need minutes, responsibility and a defined lane in the squad. Liverpool already have major investment tied up in similar areas, so any move would need a very clear football reason behind it, not just admiration for talent.
Still, elite clubs rarely ignore young playmakers who are accelerating this quickly. If Liverpool think Batrakov can become a top-level difference-maker, the congestion argument may not matter much. Competition for places is healthy when the quality is high enough.
For now, this feels like a situation to monitor rather than a deal rushing towards completion. But if the scouting feedback is strong and the club believe his trajectory will only rise, it would be no surprise if Liverpool stayed firmly in the conversation.
