The Patriots left Gillette Stadium on Oct. 11 with a blowout win over the Raiders, but they also suffered a significant loss on their offensive line.
Starting left tackle Will Campbell suffered a right knee injury during the first half of New England's Week 5 victory. Campbell, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, missed four games during his rookie season with a torn MCL in the same knee, causing concern among Pats fans.
Here is everything we know about Campbell's injury and the latest news on when he may return to the field.
Will Campbell injury update
Campbell suffered a right knee injury when wide receiver Efton Chism III appeared to fall on Campbell's leg at the end of a running play. Campbell was eventually able to walk off the field.
The Patriots initially listed Campbell as questionable, but they later ruled him out for the rest of the Week 5 game against the Raiders.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the injury was a "knee sprain based on the initial observation."
How long is Will Campbell out?
Campbell avoided a major injury, according to The Ringer's Tom Pelissero , who reported that he is considered "week-to-week."
When asked about Campbell's status during an Oct. 12 press conference, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel didn't offer a firm timeline, only saying the team would "see how the week goes."
"He'll get looked at and continue to rehab," Vrabel said . "He wasn't able to finish the game, so I don't know how much time he'll miss, if he'll be back towards the end of the week, be back Wednesday. We'll take it day by day."
On Oct. 14, Campbell told the Boston Herald's Doug Kyed that he will try to keep "building up through the week" and "see what happens."
