The Los Angeles Dodgers are bringing back a World Series hero for the 2026 season. According to multiple reports, the Dodgers are re-signing infielder Miguel Rojas to a one-year contract worth $5.5 million for 2026. Rojas, who hit one of the most important home runs in Dodgers history, will retire after the season, according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez .
The 36-year-old infielder hit a home run in the ninth inning of Game 7, putting Los Angeles back in the fight. If not for Rojas' home run, the Dodgers likely would have lost Game 7 of the World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays . It was a shocking moment that etched Rojas into Dodgers history.

In 2025, Rojas had a .262 average, seven home runs, and 26 runs batted in over the course of 114 games. These aren't flashy numbers from the Los Angeles infielder, but his play against left-handed pitchers makes him a really valuable piece to the team.
According to Gonzalez, Rojas will assist the Dodgers' front office and help in player development after his farewell season. No matter what happens moving forward, Rojas will forever live in the hearts of Dodgers fans, as the 2025 World Series was turned upside down by his home run.
