- LSU women's basketball vs Auburn final score, game highlights
With only six games remaining in the regular season, LSU women's basketball was trying to jumpstart another win streak in its Sunday showdown against Auburn at Neville Arena.
LSU (22-3, 8-3 SEC) did just that, beating a struggling Auburn team 77-44, a much-needed bounce back after it saw its seven-game win streak evaporate in the second half at No. 4 Texas on Thursday night.
Dominating the paint and keeping Auburn 's offense off balance were key contributors to Kim Mulkey 's squad getting back into the win column. Freshman forward ZaKiyah Johnson had yet another breakout game doing a little bit of everything for her team. She nearly finished with a double-double scoring a team-high 16 points while shooting around 55% from field along with eight rebounds. Her efficiency in the paint along with a four-quarter effort helped LSU hold Auburn (13-12, 2-9) to its second-lowest-scoring game of the season so far.

6:40 4Q | No. 5 LSU 70 Auburn 33
This game has been all LSU and the fourth quarter is no different, despite Mulkey going with an all-bench lineup. Joyner is leading the bench effort with 10 points all scored in the second half. Auburn's offense just can't keep up, held to just five points in the first four minutes of the quarter.
END 3Q | No. 5 LSU 61 Auburn 28
Heading into the final quarter, LSU maintains its comfortable lead. ZaKiyah Johnson has been a driving force leading all scorers with 16 points and eight rebounds. Forward Amiya Joyner has also provided some big minutes off the bench in the final few minutes of the quarter scoring eight of her points and grabbing eight boards.
LSU's offense isn't scoring as much as it typically does with just 61 points after three quarters of play but maintains a lead.
4:56 3Q | No. 5 LSU 47 Auburn 18
LSU has been making a killing in the paint against Auburn's defense, which is already in foul trouble. ZaKiyah Johnson has been its go-to scorer in the paint racking up a team-high 14 points while shooting five from nine from the field.
8:07 3Q | No. 5 LSU 40 Auburn 14
After halftime, Mikayla Williams is back to doing Mikaylah Williams things. She is leading all scorers with 12 points so far as well as snagging seven rebounds. LSU is currently outrebounding Auburn 31-20 and Williams is a key to doing so.
HALF | No. 5 LSU 36 Auburn 13
LSU made a living in the paint for the final two minutes before halftime, helping it go on an 8-0 run. Leading the charge was Williams and Flau'jae Johnson who were dishing and driving every time they got the ball. Williams leads all scorers with 10 points, with ZaKiyah adding eight and Falu'jae adding seven.
4:49 2Q | No. 5 LSU 25 Auburn 10
All but one of LSU's players who have seen the court have scored so far as it has its way in the first half of this one. Overall, Mulkey's offense is shooting 38% from the field compared to Auburn's 18% from the field.
7:00 2Q | No. 5 LSU 20 Auburn 6
Auburn's offense can't find any breathing room right now as it remains with only six points over two minutes into the second quarter. LSU has forced seven turnovers so far and when it isn't doing so it's cleaning up on the glass. Mikayla Williams and Grace Knox are leading LSU's rebounding with Williams up to four and Knox leading all rebounders with five.
END 1Q | No. 5 LSU 16 Auburn 6
While LSU is shooting close to 40% from the field goal, Auburn hasn't had any luck in the comforts of home. The home Tigers ended the quarter on a scoring drought that lasted for over three minutes and rushed shots and turnovers are the cause. LSu has forced five turnovers so far to hold Auburn to just six points in the quarter. Williams and ZaKiyah Johnson are leading LSU's offensive efforts for a combined 10 points.
4:58 1Q | No. 5 LSU 11 Auburn 2
Getting LSU on the board to no one's surprise, was Mikayla Williams scoring the first five points for her team. Those clutch buckets were followed up with making four out of five field goals before Auburn was forced to call a timeout.
