- LSU women's basketball storms back, escapes Ole Miss – Game Highlights
LSU women's basketball trailed by 13 after Ole Miss ' Cotie McMahon hit the free throws for the technical foul assessed on freshman Grace Knox after a block.
There was 5:28 left in the third and how LSU was playing coupled with how well Ole Miss was shooting, hope felt bleak.
But stars MiLaysia Fulwiley and Flau'jae Johnson put the Tigers on their back while the team honed in on defense, forcing the Rebels to miss all of their shots in the fourth quarter (0 for 17) as No. 7 LSU turned things around to escape Ole Miss, 78-70, Thursday inside Sandy and John Black Pavilion.

Johnson and Fulwiley combined for 44 points – 26 a career high for Fulwiley – as LSU (23-4, 9-4 SEC) outscored the Rebs, 24 to 7 in the final 10 minutes. Fulwiley recorded 22 points in the second half.
Before the fourth, Ole Miss (21-7, 8-5) was 5 of 11 from 3 and shooting 46.8% overall. But those numbers dried up as LSU sank into its defense with more activity with their hands and better rebounding.
All the more impressive was that LSU coach Kim Mulkey decided not play junior star guard Mikaylah Williams in the second half. She scored 7 points in the first half.
McMahon was a handful for LSU to slow down. She exploded for 13 points in the first two periods and ended the night with 25 points.
