- LSU women's basketball fades in second half in loss at Texas
LSU women's basketball took its largest lead of the game. But as fast as it grabbed the lead in the second quarter, it escaped its hands as Texas flipped the switch.
The Longhorns , led by freshman guard Aaliyah Crump and star Madison Booker , went on a tear, knocking down five straight shots and nine of 10 shots late in the second to completely flip the momentum inside Moody Center.
From there, No. 4 Texas disrupted anything the Tigers attempted to get going in the second half and No. 5 LSU was outscored 20 to 11 in the fourth en route to falling to the Longhorns , 77-64, Thursday night.

Neither team led by more than 8 points until Texas (22-2, 7-2 SEC) went on an 11-0 run in the fourth period.
The loss to Texas is the first for LSU (21-3, 7-3) since the beginning of January, and it now has three losses in Southeastern Conference play.
Junior star Mikaylah Williams kept the Tigers in the game as long as she could with timely 3-pointers to stop Texas runs. She ended up with a game-high 19 points. And her scoring was crucial as LSU's other stars, Flau'jae Johnson and MiLaysia Fulwiley , combined for 7 of 23 shooting for 18 points.
Kim Mulkey and the Tigers had no answer for Crump, who scored 11 points in the first half and finished with 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting. Booker also pitched in 16 points while Texas star senior point guard Rori Harmon collected six steals.
