Mack Hollins honored his coach in a way that had ties to the Patriots ’ “Warriors” mentality.
The wide receiver donned a No. 84 Mike Vrabel jersey during pregame warmups prior to Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium. Vrabel attended Walsh Jesuit high school. Their team mascot is the Warriors.
The Patriots have adopted a “Warriors” mantra ever since Hollins entered the AFC Championship Game dressed as Luther from the 1979 cult classic, “The Warriors.”
Hollins entered Mile High Stadium yelling Luther’s signature, “Warriors, come out to play!”
For Hollins’ Super Bowl 60 entrance, he wore a Hannibal Lecter-style mask, handcuffs around his wrists and shackles on his feet. He was holding Vrabel’s Warriors jersey. He was also barefoot, which is par for the course of the 32-year-old.
