He arrived to replace Scott Carson , who had served as City's third-choice goalkeeper. Bettinelli hasn't played for City, but they appreciate his efforts behind the scenes.
When he arrived at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson and Stefan Ortega were ahead of him in the pecking order.
They were replaced by Gianluigi Donnarumma and James Trafford last summer.
Ederson left to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahce, while Ortega stayed as the fourth choice until January, when he moved to Nottingham Forest .
Bettinelli is an academy product of Fulham , where he made 120 first-team appearances.
He spent four seasons at Chelsea and has also played for Dartford, Accrington Stanley and Middlesbrough.
