How many times have América, Chivas and Cruz Azul been level?
With just two rounds remaining in the Apertura 2026 regular season, América, Chivas and Cruz Azul are locked in a tight battle for the top spot, all level on 29 points in the overall standings.
América hold the edge as Guadalajara hosts a head-to-head showdown
Las Águilas lead the standings thanks to their superior goal difference (+15), but will finish the campaign with two consecutive away games against Pumas and Tigres. Meanwhile, El Rebaño Sagrado and La Máquina will have much of their fate decided on the final matchday, when they face off at Estadio Akron in what promises to be a final before the final.
An unprecedented top three in short-format tournaments
In nearly three decades of short-format tournaments, these three giants have never finished a regular season occupying all three top spots at the same time. Atlas are also lurking just two points behind, meaning any slip-up could change this potentially unprecedented outcome in Mexican soccer.
