Mario Cristobal and the No. 10 seed Miami Hurricanes are in the College Football Playoff semifinals after a 24-14 win over the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve.
Mario Cristobal's team has now defeated No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 2 Ohio State to play the winner of Georgia-Ole Miss.
Miami quarterback Carson Beck threw for 138 yards with a score, but the Hurricanes' defense had two interceptions against Buckeyes QB and Heisman Trophy finalist Julian Sayin , including a 72-yard pick-six.
Unfortunately, on New Year's Day, Cristobal and the Hurricanes saw wide receiver Chance Robinson decide to enter the transfer portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals.
Robinson also posted a message on X to the Miami program following the news.
"I want to thank the entire University of Miami and its supporters. I wanted nothing more in my life than to be a hurricane. Thank you for the opportunity!" he said.

Robinson was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024 and played in five games during his time with Miami, but he did not record any statistics.
Before coming to Miami, he had offers from plenty of programs, including Georgia, Penn State , Auburn , Alabama , LSU , Michigan and plenty of others.
Robinson played high school football at St. Thomas Aquinas and is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The college football transfer portal officially opens on Friday, so there should be plenty more players entering the portal in the coming weeks.
