Dallas enters Saturday's matchup on a three-game losing streak, part of a difficult 5–15 start that has dropped them to the bottom tier of the Western Conference standings. Saturday's contest marks the third stop on a four-game road trip, which concludes Monday against the Denver Nuggets (13–5). The Mavericks will then return home briefly to host the Miami Heat (13–6) on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
With both Thompson and Davis sidelined, Dallas will look to its reserve unit and remaining rotation pieces in hopes of stabilizing a season that continues to trend downward amid injuries and roster inconsistency.
