Young and McLean collided at first base, leaving Young unconscious.
The incident kept him out for the rest of the regular season, but the 31-year-old has progressed nicely in the last few weeks.
According to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo , Young suffered a concussion on the play and is dealing with neck and ear issues.
"How quick baseball can turn into life," Young told DiComo. "It was a scary thing, but it's real. I cared about getting a hit that morning. I wanted to win that game, and I wanted to hit a home run and celebrate with my teammates. Very quickly did [that change to] I just wanted to get home."
