New York Mets star Francisco Lindor was recently placed on the injured list due to a calf strain. Lindor could miss a significant amount of time with the injury . On Friday, manager Carlos Mendoza shared an update on Lindor, via Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.
“ Francisco Lindor will be in a boot for the next week. The Mets won’t reevaluate him until three full weeks pass, so he can’t restart baseball activities until mid-May at the earliest. The strain is in ‘a tricky part’ of Lindor’s left calf, per Carlos Mendoza,” DiComo reported.
Lindor suffered his injury in the same game that Juan Soto returned from a calf injury. The Mets were still able to snap their 12-game losing streak, but now they will have to play without Lindor for the foreseeable future.
Even if Lindor is able to begin baseball activities once again in mid-May, he will still need time to build up and go on an injury rehab assignment. There is no official return timeline yet, but Lindor could certainly miss many games with this calf injury.
New York will attempt to find a way to turn the season around despite Lindor’s injury absence. The ball club is currently in fourth place in the National League East standings with a 9-16 overall record. New York is set to begin a series with the Colorado Rockies at home on Friday night.
As for Francisco Lindor’s injury, updates will continue to be monitored and provided on his status as they are made available.
