- Miami claims top spot in first college football rankings
The first edition of the CFP rankings were released on Nov. 3.
This is the final year -- for now -- 12 teams will make the postseason tournament.
There is no great surprise at the top as the undefeated Miami Hurricanes are No. 1. They will play at No. 11 Notre Dame on Saturday in a huge game, especially for the Fighting Irish who already have lost to BYU.

If there is going to be a buzz it could be at the number five slot as Alabama sits there. The Crimson Tide play LSU this and are 6-2 going into that SEC contest. They lost to Georgia, which is ranked second in the CFP, and Tennessee, which sits in the No. 13 spot.
