Linebacker Trey Moore to have ankle surgery

LB Trey Moore will have ankle surgery and Hafley is hopeful he'll be back sometime this season, "I would be hopeful that he'll be back at some point this season, but it will be a while," Hafley said.

Kenneth Grant is week to week.

Hafley is "up in the air" on how much time if any the starters will get vs. the Falcons. "They need to be ready to play." Hafley will evaluate after this week's practices.

Zach Sieler is "really close" to returning to work.

CB JuJu Brents is scheduled to practice today.

Receiver Chris Bell could play vs. Falcons

There's hope receiver Chris Bell will get some time vs. Atlanta on Friday if he continues to progress. "He'll have a pretty bigger load today in practice where he'll get more reps and hopefully he'll continue to progress. And if he continues to do so, then I'd like to see him playing the game."

The Heat's Udonis Haslem spoke to the team Monday. "What an incredible story ... he had his jersey story." Adds, "I could have listen to him for a long, long time. He gave a lot of great messages to our team."

Hafley said the backup QB job is still up in the air, competition between Quinn Ewers and Cam Miller .

Kenneth Grant is week to week, so "of course there's going to be concern" on whether he can play in the season-opener.
