- Michael Fasusi, Eli Bowen still questionable for OU football’s game against Mississippi State
There is still a chance for two of OU's stars to play this weekend.
OU football's second SEC availability report of the week released Thursday with stars Michael Fasusi and Eli Bowen still listed as questionable and with a few others moving around the availability chart.
Wednesday's Injury Report:
Tory Blaylock, RB – PROBABLE
Parker Livingstone, WR – PROBABLE
Eli Bowen, CB – QUESTIONABLE
Michael Fasusi, OL – QUESTIONABLE
Heath Ozaeta, OL – QUESTIONABLE
Elijah Thomas, WR – QUESTIONABLE
Xavier Robinson, RB − DOUBTFUL
Ryan Fodje, OL – OUT
Eddy Pierre-Louis, OL – OUT
Jacobe Johnson, CB – OUT
Trynae Washington, TE – OUT
Trell Harris, WR – OUT
Taylor Heim, LB – OUT
Bowen appeared on the availability report before OU's game against Texas as 'questionable' and has missed the past two weeks.
Fasusi has missed every game since the season opener and really only played the first quarter of the UTEP game before exiting with an apparent shoulder injury.
Fasusi is the biggest factor for the Sooners on this week's injury report as he's been gone since the season opener and the offensive line is deteriorating in health and in performance.
"He's just about ready," OU coach Brent Venables said last week. "So I'm excited. Everybody's excited to get another really good player back, and he's worked relentlessly. He's in great shape, think you saw him in pregame, amped up and ready to go, but he's got to clear another hurdle or so here in the next few days to get him back going.
"Nobody misses being out there with his teammates more than Mike. Proud of him, how he's handled—I'm sure there's some discouragement there, with not being able to play and compete. But soon is what I would say."
Eddy Pierre-Louis is out, seemingly going backward from what he's been trending as. He missed the Texas game and was seen with a massive brace on his right leg and had a singular crutch helping him get around the field pregame.
He's been questionable to start the past two weeks and would eventually miss the game. This time, there is no chance for him to play this week.
A new name on the list is starting lineman Ryan Fodje, who is out for OU's game at MSU. He injured his ankle in OU's game against Kentucky and was left out on the field for a few drives after his apparent injury that will sideline him for at least a week.
Wideout Livingstone is probable after being questionable last night. He played for most of the Texas game, but missed last week against Kentucky.
Lineman Ozeata got the start for the Sooners at right guard against Texas, but seemed to have suffered a slight injury pregame. He played through it, but missed OU's game against Kentucky.
Notably for the Bulldogs is the uncertainty surrounding star quarterback Kamario Taylor's health ahead of the game. He is still questionable for the Bulldogs along with star running back Fluff Bothwell and safety Isaac Smith.
