It's still a little tough to believe the Michigan Wolverines are 1-0 after a last-second win over Western Michigan. We asked the Maize n Brew community to sum up their reaction to the game in three words. You can still add your thoughts to the post on The Feed.
Honestly, I was on social media prepared to rank this loss among the other losses we've experienced in the program. We know there have been some pretty painful ones. It's tough not to feel for the players on Western Michigan's football team. They fought for everything in this one and even thought they won, because the clock in the stadium apparently showed the game was over.

There's going to be a lot of debate about whether it was the right call to add one second to the clock. The Big Ten issued a statement after the game, describing why the officials made that call. Still, it's not necessarily a great look when the conference has to come out and say there was a second on the clock.
That's the main focus of immediate reactions after the game, and it makes a lot of sense. Most of us agree Western Michigan had a pretty impressive performance in this one. It wouldn't have been surprising to see the Broncos win.

While some are still lingering in disbelief, the rest are focusing on the other seconds the Wolverines were on the field.
It really didn't give us much to get excited about.

Beyond this week, the Wolverines a tough schedule ahead. They'll host No. 10 Oklahoma before UTEP and Iowa come to town. While the crowd wasn't exactly chummy with HC Kyle Whittingham and this team on Saturday, there's always next time.
We wait around every offseason and make up things about how the team will come together. We made assumptions based on what we've seen on Whittingham's past teams. What we've seen in this game doesn't look like it's going to amount to much. BUT there's still a long season ahead. It could turn around. Or we could all have a lot more time on our hands.
