Caitlin Clark watched as the Indiana Fever made a surprising run in the 2025 WNBA Playoffs without her, advancing to Game 5 of the semifinals. The point guard appeared in just 13 games this season due to numerous injuries, missing the postseason entirely. Still, Clark performed well enough to earn her second All-Star selection of her young career.
But before Clark was an All-WNBA star on the Fever, she was making a namer for herself with the Iowa Hawkeyes. From 2020 to 2024, Clark became one of the greatest college basketball players of all time, averaging 28.4 points on 46.2% shooting, 7.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game. She also led Iowa to two straight national championship appearances, falling in both.

But arguably the biggest accomplishment of Clark's college career was breaking former LSU star Pete Maravich's record for the most points in NCAA history, finishing with 3,951 at Iowa. The Fever guard also became the only women's college basketball player since the 2021-22 season to record 30 or more points in four consecutive games against Top 25 teams, accomplishing the feat twice.
Mikayla Blakes has led the No. 5 Vanderbilt Commodores to a 27-3 record during the 2025-26 college basketball season. And in a recent win over the No. 24 Alabama Crimson Tide , Blakes recorded 35 points, five assists and four rebounds, marking her fifth consecutive game with 30 or more points against a ranked opponent.
In doing so, Blakes has now passed Clark for the most consecutive games with 30 or more points against a Top 25 opponent since the 2021-22 season. In addition to Alabama, Blakes scored 30-plus points against the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats (twice), the No. 4 Texas Longhorns and the No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners .
"Mikayla Blakes is HOOPIN' hoopin' 💪," ESPN Insights wrote on X. "The sophomore's fifth-straight 30-piece vs. Top 25 teams passes Caitlin Clark 's 4-game streak in her senior season 🔥"
Clark's third season in the WNBA is set to begin on May 9 as the Fever host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings .
