- Mike McDaniel, popular Titans OC candidate, withdraws from Browns interviews per report
One of the most popular candidates for the Tennessee Titans ' offensive coordinator vacancy is reportedly being awfully choosy about where he ends up in 2026.
Former Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, who interviewed for the Titans' coaching vacancy last week, has reportedly withdrawn his name from consideration for the Cleveland Browns ' coaching search, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. McDaniel has a long-standing relationship with new Titans coach Robert Saleh ; the two overlapped as coworkers in Houston from 2006-08 and again in San Francisco from 2017-20.

Per Pelissero's report, McDaniel is still a candidate for the coaching vacancies in Baltimore and Las Vegas and he's drawn interest for several offensive coordinator positions including jobs in Tampa Bay and with the Los Angeles Chargers .
The Titans and Saleh agreed to terms on a contract to make Saleh the Titans' next head coach, a source told The Tennessean on Jan. 19. Saleh is a defensive coach by trade, and in his past head coaching stint with the New York Jets his offenses struggled consistently.
McDaniel, meanwhile, was the run game coordinator under Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco when Saleh was serving his first stint as defensive coordinator, and coached some of the best offenses in the NFL while he led the Dolphins . Some of the top skill talents who developed or thrived under McDaniel's tutelage include receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle , running backs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane and tight end Darren Waller .

The Titans have yet to officially announce Saleh's hiring, and no timeline has been announced or provided on how quickly Saleh will want to assemble a staff once his hiring is made official.
Competition for offensive coordinator jobs will be high. Nearly half of the NFL's teams have either fired their offensive coordinators or parted ways with head coaches leaving their OCs in limbo this offseason.
