Change has arrived in the Steel City, and Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan has no choice but to approach the new league year without the aid of former head coach Mike Tomlin .
During a special edition of The Rich Eisen Show live from the NFL Scouting Combine, Khan discussed how it felt to be at the event without Tomlin.
"I don't say it's different, but we spent a long time [together]," Khan said. "I was with Mike 19 years, right? And he loved this process. I got some great memories. He was a great partner for a long time. Honestly, it was a privilege to work with Mike as long as I did."
Khan then admitted he tried to convince the long-time Steelers head coach to stick around, but Tomlin's mind was ultimately made up.
It remains to be seen how Khan will pair with Tomlin's successor, Mike McCarthy, but all eyes will turn to their offseason approach as the Steelers venture into these uncharted waters.
