New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel noted three players in particular who caught the eye of the coaching staff during Saturday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles .
Cornerback Kindle Vildor, offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover and defensive tackle Leonard Taylor III all impressed the staff, according to Vrabel, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Vildor had three combined defensive tackles, a near interception and a couple of nice pass breakups. Crownover stepped in and held his own at tackle after Marcus Bryant went down with an injury. Taylor recorded two combined tackles, including a hit on Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee that forced an incomplete pass on a 4th-and-1 situation.
The success of all three players could lead to more opportunities down the road.
Taylor showed up big for the Patriots in the playoffs last season, while Vildor has been one of the training camp standouts in the defensive backfield. Crownover, a rookie sixth-round draft pick, has all of the physical tools to be a future contributor.
However, the future might have to be sooner than expected from a depth perspective, depending on Bryant's health status.
