In the first half, Parma started well with two shots from Pellegrino, especially one that grazed the post. Shortly after, Loftus-Cheek collided with Corvi and was forced to leave on a stretcher( details here ), but Milan still dominated the match and looked dangerous with Jashari and Pulisic , though they failed to create any clear-cut chances.
At the start of the second half, Milan attacked and only Troilo saved a shot on an open goal from Pulisic, which came after a deflection between Corvi and Leao (with a probable foul by the Milan striker). Ten minutes later, Leao hit the inside of the postwith a volley.
Parma sat back and suddenly scored the 1-0: from a corner, Troilojumped over Bartesaghi and scored with Maignan being blocked by Valenti, the referee initially disallowed the goal. VAR called him to the monitor and he changed his decision: Valenti's obstruction was not enough to be considered a foul, and Troilo did not push Bartesaghi, who did not jump for the corner. In the final minutes, Milan attacked but couldn't find the net.
