- Milwaukee Brewers: 2 injured relievers take next step toward returning from the injured list
Two injured relievers for the Milwaukee Brewers are headed to Triple-A Nashville to begin rehab assignments this week.
Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports Radio Wisconsin reported Tuesday that right-hander Bryse Wilson is scheduled to pitch for Nashville that night and throw about 40 pitches. Right-hander Grant Anderson is scheduled to throw one inning for Nashville on Wednesday to start his assignment.

The two went on the 15-day injured list a week apart. Milwaukee opens its series against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 93-57, with a 10-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central and a magic number of two. The Brewers have already clinched a postseason berth.

The Brewers placed Wilson on the 15-day injured list Aug. 31 with a lower back strain. The corresponding move activated setup man Abner Uribe from the injured list ahead of a series at Wrigley Field.
MLB.com reported that Wilson felt tightness after the team's flight home from New York, and the tightness returned during an outing against the Texas Rangers .
Wilson, 28, signed with Milwaukee on July 10. In 12 relief appearances for the Brewers, he has a 2.55 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings.
This is his third organization of 2026. Across 15 relief outings with the Philadelphia Phillies , Cubs and Brewers, he has a 3.67 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings. Milwaukee designated him for assignment in August and then re-signed him.
This is also Wilson's second stint with the Brewers, after the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Over parts of nine major league seasons, he is 20-23 with a 4.74 ERA in 178 games, 57 of them starts.

Milwaukee placed Anderson on the 15-day injured list Sept. 7 with right biceps inflammation.
The move followed two days of work at Great American Ball Park. Anderson threw 17 pitches on Sept. 5, then a season-high 44 over 2 2/3 innings the next afternoon in a 12-8 loss to the Cincinnati Reds .
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that day that the club needed a fresh arm in the bullpen.
"We had to extend him yesterday more than he's been, and he was feeling it," Murphy said. "Hopefully it's minimal. There was no structural damage. Nobody thought there were any alarms going off."
Anderson, 29, is 3-3 with a 3.36 ERA in 52 appearances this season.
Brandon Sproat was recalled to take Anderson's roster spot. After a four-walk outing against the Cubs, Milwaukee optioned Sproat back to Nashville on Sept. 10 and recalled Garrett Stallings.
Anderson is not the only Brewers reliever in Nashville. Left-hander Rob Zastryzny , on the 60-day injured list with a left upper trap strain, started his own rehab assignment there Sept. 9.
MLB.com lists Anderson's expected return as mid-to-late September.
