A franchise-record regular season is officially in the books for the Milwaukee Brewers .
And what a finale it was.
Jacob Misiorowski threw 5 ⅓ shutout innings to put a stamp on his Cy Young Award-caliber campaign and Brice Turang drove in his 100thrun with a first-inning single to highlight a 6-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at American Family Field on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 27.
BOX SCORE: Brewers 6, Cardinals 4
The Brewers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and were up 5-0 in the third after a two-run home run by Gary Sánchez while Misiorowski dominated the Cardinals in a somewhat truncated outing.
St. Louis scored all four of its runs in the eighth against Chad Patrick to make a game of it, but Shane Drohan took over and finished the game with no further drama to seal an 18-6 month of September and 103-59 season.
The 103 wins ties the 2016 Chicago Cubs – who went on to win the World Series that year – for second-most in National League Central history.
Milwaukee finishes an amazing 44 games over .500, nine games better than the previous franchise record set last season.
"I think the greatest thing is we came out healthy, we kept playing and the guys were interested," manager Pat Murphy said. "Guys were very interested, and the fans made it that way."
A rough eighth for Chad Patrick
Patrick entered for the eighth and immediately surrendered a triple to right-center. He followed that up with a walk, and Milwaukee's shutout bid was scuttled on Jordan Walker 's run-scoring groundout.
Another walk then preceded the big blow, a three-run homer to right off the bat of Leo Bernal that quickly turned a laugher into a 6-4 ballgame.
Drohan entered at that point and retired the next two batters, then threw a 1-2-3 ninth to finish the game up and leave the Brewers with an 11-2 record against the Cardinals for the year.

It's a wrap for The Miz
It was perhaps a little surprising to see Misiorowski come back out for the sixth inning after twirling five scoreless, but there he was on the mound as Pedro Pagés opened the frame with a single.
A three-pitch strikeout of Walker followed, and then that was it for The Miz, who received a thunderous ovation from the sellout crowd of 43.556 – largest of the season and 25th capacity gathering on the year – as he made his way into the dugout, where he was greeted by a handshake and hug from every teammate.
After DL Hall entered and then completed a scoreless frame, the numbers were finalized for Misiorowski: A 16-5 record, 1.80 ERA, WHIP of 0.80 and a batting average against of .157 to go along with 252 strikeouts over 174 ⅔ innings.
A Cy Young Award-caliber season in the National League? One would certainly have to think so.
"You can't deny the numbers that he's put up," Murphy said. "But I just look at it more like he's a very unfinished product. He's got a lot to work with. He's a delight to have on the team. There's a ways to go in there.
"But he had a fabulous year."

Milwaukee tacks on
Jackson Chourio led off the third with his second single in as many at-bats, then two batters later Gary Sánchez went the other way for a two-run homer – his 12th of the season – to open Milwaukee's lead out to 5-0.
Misiorowski, meanwhile, was on cruise control through three innings allowing only a bloop single and a couple walks. His strikeout of Nolan Gorman also gave him his major-league-leading 249th of the season as he moved past Cleveland 's Gavin Williams .
Then in the fourth, David Hamilton reached on a swinging bunt, Garrett Mitchell walked and Chourio singled in Hamilton to make it 6-0.
Brewers grab the early lead as Brice Turang surpasses milestone
After Misiorowski put up a 1-2-3 top of the first, the Brewers greeted Andre Pallante with four consecutive singles to grab an early 2-0 lead.
The fourth hit came from none other than Brice Turang, whose poke up the middle plated Jake Bauers to give him an even 100 runs batted in on the season.
Turang is the first Milwaukee second baseman to homer 20 times and drive in 100 runs, and he did so in a team-high 151 games.
Two batters later Christian Yelich singled in another run, and Cooper Pratt followed with another single to make it six in the frame before the rally finally fizzled out with Milwaukee holding a 3-0 lead.
What is the Brewers' record?
103-59.
