He hasn't found his way into the NHL lineup this year just yet, but Hunter Haight is ever so close.
For now, he'll have to wait, as he's been reassigned to the Iowa Wild of the AHL after serving as an extra forward for the Minnesota Wild.
Haight looked strong in the pre-season and clearly made a lasting impact. He was among one of the final cuts and has looked very strong to start the AHL season.
With three goals and five points in six games, Haight leads the team in goals and ranks second in points. It's Haight's third season in the AHL, and he's improved each time. In his rookie season, he posted 20 goals and 34 points in 67 games. His sophomore season saw him score two fewer goals and two fewer points, although he played 13 fewer games.
Now, he's on a pace of 36 goals and 60 points over 71 games.
Originally selected in the second round, 47th overall, Haight has been a solid point producer at every level and his development has him on pace to be a projectable middle six player.
The Wild have been patient with his development, but if Haight continues to play at this level, he'll find his way into the NHL very soon. Haight has played nine NHL games, all in 2025-26, in which he recorded a goal and an assist.
