This season has hardly gone as planned for the Minnesota Vikings. Not only are they a disappointing 6-8 , but the offensive line that they spent a bunch of money on has been both mediocre and injured.
The starting group will finish the year having played just two games together , and one of those saw a pair of players fail to finish the game . They turned over the interior swapping out both guard positions and the center spot.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone willing to argue in favor of Will Fries or Donovan Jackson this season, and that's unfortunate. Ed Ingram on the other hand, is smiling with his new Houston Texans teammates.

Ed Ingram has made Minnesota Vikings look bad in 2025
The Minnesota Vikings used a second round pick on Ed Ingram in 2022 . He often drew the ire of fans and was sent to Houston in March for nothing more than a sixth round pick in 2026. This season he has been among the best guards in the game, and The Athletic's Dianna Russini wonders if the Vikings don't have a bit of regret.
Ed Ingram was an afterthought when they signed him from Minnesota this offseason, but the 26-year-old guard has been the best player on an offensive line that was expected to sink Houston.
Although Ingram was not noteworthy across his 48 games for the Vikings, he has been the opposite with Houston. The Texans are 9-5, and Ingram has graded out as the 14th-best guard per Pro Football Focus. Minnesota's tandem of Will Fries and Donovan Jackson are 40th and 45th repsectively.
It's possible that Jackson, who is just 23 years old an 11 games into his career , continues to develop and takes steps forward. He showed well in his debut , and has had positive moments. Unfortunately the veteran Fries has hardly been what was expected when he was a prioritized free agent .
It is a good thing that the Vikings locked down Ryan Kelly . The veteran has been the third-best center per Pro Football Focus, but he has missed significant time due to concussions. It's a two-year deal, but the 32-year-old has missed seven games and may want to rethink his playing career this offseason.
If there are changes to be made for the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, and there probably should be, then offensive line coach Chris Kuper is probably where things start. Minnesota has just three games remaining and needs to show development in multiple areas to close the year.
