How did the Minnesota Vikings' offseason start in 2026? The only way that made sense — a Jordan Addison arrest. Florida authorities arrested controversial playmaker earlier this week for trespassing, the third legal infraction for Addison since joining the Vikings in the 2023 NFL Draft. And thanks to the publication of the police report, new information about the incident is now available.
Addison's situation reads like a minor dispute with security, adding another off-field marker that will affect how the Vikings handle him moving forward.

Addison will be forced to do more soul-searching, finding a different method to stay out of trouble.
About That Florida Casino Jordan Addison Arrest …

The Additional Addison Details
Courtesy of TMZ, Addison's arrest report is now public.
The document detailed :
On 1/12/2026, at approximately 0342 hours, I was dispatched to the Noodle Bar located inside the Hard Rock Casino (Tampa) in reference to a trespass call for service. The defendant was asked several times by Casino Security to leave the restaurant and refused.
As the defendant was being escorted out of the building, he repeatedly had to be redirected towards the front exit. The defendant was redirected by myself and Officer Scheidegg multiple times. The defendant was then taken into custody for trespass after warning. This incident occurred within Hillsborough County.
Before the TMZ article was published, Addison's lawyers went on offense, tweeting , "On Jordan's behalf, his legal team has already initiated the investigation, identified witnesses, and we are reviewing the viability of a claim for false arrest. He looks forward to the legal process and upon full investigation, we are confident Mr. Addison will be exonerated."

In another offseason, Vikings fans will track and monitor Addison's legal situation . It's a clockwork event.
A Summary of Past Poor Decision-Making
Addison's warning signs started early. In 2023, he was arrested for driving 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone in the Twin Cities. The fallout stayed minimal because he cited a dog emergency, the behavior looked isolated at the time, and the charge landed as a misdemeanor.
That grace evaporated a year later. Addison was found asleep and intoxicated in his car on a Los Angeles freeway , a situation that hung over the Vikings for months. He eventually resolved the case with probation, while the NFL issued a three-game suspension — widely viewed as strike two.

By the 2025 regular season, the pattern continued. Addison skipped a team walkthrough in London , prompting Kevin O'Connell to bench him for a quarter, a quiet punishment that carried louder implications. Why? It's just another rung in the ladder. Addison has now formed a trend — not a good one.
The latest arrest has prompted Vikings fans to wonder, "Will it ever end?"
A Contract Year Ahead, Too
Meanwhile, Addison's fourth year in the NFL is on the horizon. During a 1st-Round rookie's offseason heading into Year No. 4, he generally begins talking about an extension with his employer, particularly if the player is productive.

Addison ventures into that process with three arrests, a suspension, and a missed team walkthrough. Without any of those transgressions, he could probably ask Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah for a contract worth $120 million over four years. His talent is that dynamic.
But the trespassing ordeal muddies everything. There's no reason to believe that Addison will stop the tomfoolery. If so, wouldn't the 140 MPH reckless driving incident three years ago be enough to serve as a wake-up call? Minnesota is back to a familiar quandary with Addison. What is the last straw? How many more incidents can arise?

Adofo-Mensah said Tuesday about the arrest , "We just found out that information, so I don't want to speak too deeply about it. … Ninety-nine percent of the days that Jordan Addison is a Viking, he is a joy to be around. He is incredibly intelligent, confident, and responsible."

"Like all of us, it's, 'What are you like on those 1 percent of days?' Is it the type of thing that draws attention or not? Obviously, that's something we have to consider when you're talking about long-term ramifications of a contract. Always supportive of Jordan Addison, and we'll continue to fact-find and see what actually happened."
The Vikings are always ardently supportive of Addison, but the patience may run out because it's one battle after another.
Trespassing Charge Will Likely Blow Over
Thankfully for Addison's sake, the Tampa trespassing matter doesn't sound like a "big deal" if one is in the business of comparing bad deeds. His lawyers will likely make it go away, since no one was hurt and no felonies occurred. Too, the NFL doesn't usually suspend players for trespassing charges. Addison's arrest is more awkward, bizarre, and eye-rolling than anything.

During every offseason since Addison joined the club three years ago, fans have kept tabs on his legal situation — mostly separate incidents. The 2026 offseason is now no different. "Here we go again."
