Fresno State came into this game with no fear, and they emerged with a statement win over Oregon State. Their defense completely shut down the vaunted offense, holding Jesse Legree to under 100 receiving yards. They also recovered two fumbles and shut them down in red zone. With the Bulldog win, the Pac-12 becomes a bit more open, at least a three-team race instead of a two-team one.

Boise State dominated the first half of this game, then lost complete control of this game in the 3rd, then had no business winning this game down by 10 losing their starting QB, then somehow came from behind to win this game by the slimmest of margins. Leading 28-3 at half, Texas State scored 36 unanswered points and had everything going their way. But Max Cutforth entered the game and tossed 3 TDs, all in the 4th Q, and it turned into a shootout, with 38 combined points in the 4th. The Broncos did a lot of great things and a lot of awful things in this game. One thing is for sure, Pac-12 After Dark has officially be revived with this game and the game reviewed above.
Mountain West After Dark had a bit of chaos as well, with Northern Illinois showing up and fighting UNLV to the end, although they fell a bit short. NIU actually outgained UNLV in total yards, rushing yards, had more first downs, fewer turnovers, and won the TOP battle. But it wasn't meant to be. For the Rebels, Jackson Arnold was too good, throwing 3 touchdowns, spreading the ball around, and making plays with his legs. With the win, they keep their conference title hopes alive.

Lobos ranked for the first time in history. Broncos stay ranked as well.
