EAST LANSING – A much-needed bye week arrived for Michigan State football at the right time for rest.
It ended without much-needed recovery for the Spartans ' rivalry renewal road trip to Michigan.
Quarterback Alessio Milivojevic and safety Devin Vaught are listed as questionable, but defensive tackle Ben Roberts, tight end Jayden Savoury, running back Jaziun Patterson and linebacaker Jordan Hall are all listed as out for Saturday's 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor (Peacock).
The Spartans (2-6, 0-5 Big Ten) are on a six-game losing streak overall and a four-year skid against U-M (5-3, 2-3). They had last week off following a 28-10 loss at No. 5 UCLA on Oct. 24. The Wolverines escaped on the road against Rutgers on Saturday, 28-21.

Milivojevic and Patterson missed the loss to the Bruins at the Rose Bowl, and Patterson's replacement, Marvis Parrish, got hurt on his second carry and MSU's third offensive play of the game. Already without starting running back Cam Edwards for the season, the Spartans had to turn to kick returner Kenneth Williams as their fourth option at running back.
Parrish also is listed as out for the MSU-Michigan game, along with backup quarterback Cam Fancher, fullback Jay Coyne, tight end Joe Caudill and offensive lineman Tristan Comer. Wide receiver Charles Taplin, who has missed the past two games, is listed as questionable.
On MSU's first defensive snap against UCLA, they lost Roberts with what appears to be a long-term leg injury. The senior was on the sideline in the second half sporting crutches, but he shed those for a wheelchair after the game ended. The Spartans also lost Vaught in the third quarter.
MSU remains without Hall, cornerbacks Charles Brantley and Tre Bell, along with safety Brayden Thomas. However, cornerbacks Tyran Chappell and Keshawn Williams are listed as questionable along with Vaught.
